Two of the UK’s most iconic music and portrait photographers, Rankin and Gered Mankowitz, come together at Colours, Hoxton, for a rare conversation as part of Abbey Road Studio Four @ @SXSWLondon 2025.
In this hour-long talk, hosted by UK Black Female Photographer’s Group founder Jemella Ukaegbu, they reflect on their careers behind the lens - from discovering photography in their early years, to building trust with the artists they’ve shot and adapting to the constant changes in the industry.
They look back at some of their most memorable work, from Jimi Hendrix and Kate Bush to Oasis and Björk, sharing the stories behind the images and reveal what it truly means to stay creatively fearless.
