MoonSwatch "Mission to Saturn" - Impressions

The video shows some pictures of the “Mission to Saturn” MoonSwatch.
The MoonSwatch series of SWATCH watches with a 100% authentic Omega Speedmaster case design that were created in a co-operation between the two sister companies Omega and SWATCH. The watch has a true SWATCH chronograph movement inside a bio-ceramic housing that was produced with the design data of the Omega Speedmaster, one of the most iconic watches because it’s the first and so far only watch to be worn on the moon by US astronauts.
When the watch was introduced in March 2022, it was one of the most discussed items in the watch world. To my understanding, many people, in particular watch enthusiasts, do not understand what’s it all about: It’s a SWATCH in the first place, nothing else. And because of that, it attracts teens or people in their twenties, e.g. students at high-school, college or university that are interested in a cool looking affordable watch (as far as the price of $ 260 or € 250 is regarded as affordable).
The impact on my two teenaged kids is that they are telling me now, they want to have a real Speedmaster when time has come (e.g. as a gift to their final exams or bought from their own first salaries). The other impact is, when they enter a watch shop in a place that does not have a SWATCH monostore, they are asked by the staff in the watch shop if they can have a look at the watch… . But don’t forget, it’s a SWATCH, a low-cost disposable quartz watch. Apart from changing the battery and the strap (standard 20 mm wide straps), nothing else can be changed.
Still, it’s cool, it really is.
