After doing the Kjerag hike, we took the ferry from Lysebotn to the other part of the Lysefjord, as it was easier and shorter this way than driving all around the mountains. We were planning to do the Pulpit Rock hike later that day, so this was a convenient and time-efficient option.
This ferry is also a wonderful and scenic alternative if you want to reach Stavanger and don't want to drive through the mountains (which are also great during summer, I have done both options).
Important!! This is a much smaller ferry than any of the others I've seen in Norway and definitely needs to be prebooked online, even in September.
