How to make a Garland of Jasmine Flowers (Easy DIY technique without Needle)

A clear and concise video showing how to tie Jasmine flower Garland for Learners/Starters. Gives Information on the steps to follow, pitfalls to avoid and few tips to get it right the very first time.

I did this video as I found there was no other video in the Internet showing the method that i know. So we decided to make this Garland making video and share the technique.

In this video I have used Jasmine flower grown in our terrace garden :) Jasmine flowers are seasonal, there are varieties of Jasmine available around the word. You can follow this technique with any Jasmine types or any other similar shaped flower.

FLOWERS -- You need to be careful about the flowers that you pick as well as about the type of thread that you use. For learners it is better to try with flower bud or flower in which petals are smaller or half open as we have shown in video.

THREAD -- Coming to threads, Garland threads are three times thicker than the tailoring thread. You get these special threads in local stores in India. If you don't get these threads you can still manage with tailoring thread by taking the thread of required length in sets like 2 or 3 together, but here you have to make the thread wet more so that they stick together.

KNOTS -- Tying a knot is very important step while making garland if you pull the garland thread hardly the flowers will cut off and if you pull less flower will not stay in thread.

Keeping in mind these three important aspects of Garland making just follow the steps described in the video and you will easily get it,

GARLAND USES -- India Jasmine flower Garland are used for many purpose. Jasmine garland is used in every ritual in India from naming ceremony of baby as decorating the cradle to funeral ceremony in which they put garland for dead body. Also Garlands are used in decorating Idols, decorating religious places, festival and marriages.
And most importantly women wear it as a decorative item behind their head.
