The Case Of Zoe Nelson | True Crime | True Crime Stories | True Crime Documentary 2024

Zoe Nelson was born on August 13, 1992, in Wishaw, Scotland. At the time of the incident, she lived with her mother, stepfather, and two younger sisters in New Mains, a village near Wishaw. Zoe was a student at Motherwell College and was well-liked by her peers.

However, Zoe's life was complicated by a rivalry with her 16-year-old sister Laura Ann, who was also involved with the same boyfriend. This led to tension between the sisters. On May 22, 2010, the situation escalated when Laura Ann saw Zoe talking to a 20-year-old man named Robert Bayne outside their home. Laura Ann became upset and confronted Zoe, leading to a physical fight.

Their mother, Marianne Nelson, intervened , telling Zoe to leave. Zoe obeyed and did not go back home. Later that night, around 11 pm, locals reported seeing someone starting a fire in a nearby wooded area known as Monkey Hill. The smell of smoke drifted to nearby homes, but no one suspected anything out of the ordinary at the time.
