Storage Cabinet - Sweet Chestnut & Brass || Custom Furniture

A Storage Cabinet made from Sweet Chestnut, with brass detailing on the top - client commission for a holiday cottage on the beautiful island of Anglesey (Ynys Mon in Welsh).

The piece was designed to be similar to LP Record cabinets I've designed & built previously. The dimensions had to fit perfectly behind the sofa in the living room, but not obstruct the doorway. The brass detail on top is a nod to nautical furniture, and as this cottage is located on the beach, it seemed a nice touch - also allows the owner & guests to throw their keys on the cabinet without them disappearing! Top drawers have dovetail joinery, with a piston fit, in order to maximise drawer space, but the larger drawers were mounted on Blum soft close hinges
