How does a sigma mixer work?
Sigma mixer consists of two sigma-shaped mixing blades positioned within a 'W' shaped mixing vessel.
The clearance between the blades and the vessel walls is low (~2 mm).
The low clearances produce high shear and particle size reduction.
Material is loaded into the mixer from the top of the vessel and discharged by tilting the container assembly.
** Applications of Sigma Blade Mixer
Sigma mixers are best suited for mixing and kneading highly viscous mass, sticky, and dough-like products.
Mixing of pastes, rubber, and heavy plastic masses.
Applications in Food, Rubber, Pharmaceutical, and Chemical industries.
Dry powder to wet phase mixing.
