Tour Charleston's Historic Homes

Come with us as we take you inside some of the most famous historic homes and gardens in the famous Holy City of Charleston, South Carolina! Join us as we walk graveyards, take ghost tours and study preservation and restoration up close.
This historic city and home tour will give you excellent examples of the difference between restoration and preservation, as well as stunning views of Georgian and Federal interiors. Those of you who believe that historic woodwork was never painted, and that historic homes were dark and dreary, be prepared to be surprised by the truth. Find yourself surrounded by ochre yellows, bright aqua blues created with copper alloy, and citron colored walls. Woodwork is highlighted with lead white, cream, grey and polychrome to pull out the details.
You'll learn the difference between applied plaster work and in situ carved plaster, you'll see trompe l'oeil ceiling medallions beautifully restored to their 18th century glory.
