For fifth annual Winter in the Wasteland [ #WITW5 ] build, host @JimSilva-SilvaDiecastCustoms has challenged the diecast customizing community to build a postapocalyptic vehicle built to take on an ALIEN INVASION.
By why oh why did Jim suggest a diorama?
Well that’s what we have here: a Plasma Drone, four support vehicles, and Knollwood Station – a bombed-out building with a wall of wrecked cars leaned against it, concealing the bunker within.
The principal vehicle, a #HotWheels Roborace Robocar, flies using repulsor technology and carries a very large plasma cannon. It’s modeled after the A-10 Warthog, which is an airplane built around a 30MM cannon – only this drone has stealth and a nuclear-powered Draco engine, so it’s fast… and can fly in space, when we finally take the fight to the aliens.
So there’s a little BRRT! In the laser beams this time around.
