In Turin (Torino), taking taxis and Uber is ridiculously expensive. Therefore, it's better to try to take public transportation when possible. From taking the train to and from the airports to using the city's buses and metro, you can possibly save yourself well over $100 by taking public transportation.
In this video, I show how to use Turin's metro/subway system. For less than $2, you can go from one side of Turin to the other side of the city. As far as I've seen, all Turin metro stations accept Apple Pay (or Android Pay) and contactless credit card payments, meaning there's no need to buy tickets. It's also slightly cheaper to use your phone for payment. Just look for the lanes with the yellow signs.
Also, unlike many stations in other cities, it appears that all metro stations in Turin are accessible for those with mobility issues, with escalators and elevators available from the street level to the train platforms.
If the metro doesn't go where you need, you can also use the city's extensive bus system.
