HOW I MADE A MEDIEVAL EMBROIDERY FOR A SPLENDID GOWN // CREATING 15TH CENTURY ITALIAN EMBROIDERY

The chronicle of my experiment creating an embroidered sleeve applique for my 15th century Florentine gown (gamurra), based on portraiture, inventories, chronicles, and extant embroidered pieces. It also offers a quick tutorial on the stitches utilized in the piece, namely underside couching, topside couching, and split stitch.
