Sony MDS-E10 Minidisc Recorder - Disc Stuck, No Record, Broken Switch

I've already fought DCC so I might as well fight the rival format. This is a Sony MDS-E10 pro audio MD machine with a disc stuck in it, a record button that does nothing, and a thoroughly broken input select switch. Let's see what we can do for it.

At the time MD would have made a major impact on my life, I couldn't afford to buy either the machine or the blank discs, but I'd still like to try it out as a potential archiving medium for my old 80s mixtape cassettes. I'd like to have a form of physical media that won't degrade or break like cassettes do, and it's real clear that DCC isn't ever going to fit the bill. MD just might... if I like this format.
