Tis beautiful car is a survivor with several evolutions of restoration and modifications.
I have only owned it for the last year.
The engine is a pro built high performance Buick 455 with a pro built 700r4 transmission with a B&M pro ratchet shifter.
Long tube heaters feed into Pypes 3 inch exhaust.
Holley Blue electric fuel pump is feeding a very thirsty Holley 750 double pumper which sits on a TA Performance Single plane high rise.
The cam is aggressive, what we use to call 3/4 race.
The distributor is Mallory and the ignition module is MSD.
The interior is original except for the newer carpet and dash pad. The seats have a couple of small cuts and sun fading. The convertible top is over 20 years old and it works well but has a couple of small cuts.
The body has had a little rust repair and paint work done over 20 years ago with some more recent work done on rear quarters so there is a bit of paint mismatch there.
The car has an honest 65 thousand miles on it so everything is square and tight, the floor pans and frame are very good.
The wheels are 20x8, Giva. And just a touch bigger than stock. They fit without interference. Tires are front 245 40, rear 265 50.
Right now it has 2:73 gears and the original open differential. With the power available the rear end should be changed to a posi unit.
With 2:73 gears and the 4 speed auto with a lock up converter the car runs at 1600 rpm at 70 miles per hour on the freeway. That results in a surprising 18 miles per gallon.
I am looking forward to working on improvements and driving this car.
The ultimate fun would be a new posi diff with 3:23 gears, and a bit of bracket racing at the local 1/8 mile track.
Until that happens it is so cool to cruise with the top down and watch heats spin to watch and hear it go by. It looks like a show car at 20 feet.
