How small is the nucleus of an atom really? ... Really, really small
FUN FACTS:
(a) If the nucleus was the same size of a golf ball, the atom would cover an area with radius more than 1 km.
(b) If the nucleus were the size of the Sun, the atom would be 10 times bigger than the Solar system.
Observation on Nuclear size :-
(1) The nucleus is extremely tiny.
(2) The nucleus does not have a sharp boundary, but instead the nuclear density decreases slowly near the surface.
(3) The nuclear density is constant almost throughout the entire volume of the nucleus, except near the surface. This hints at the nature of the force holding the nucleus together.
(4) The Radius of any nucleus is proportional to the cube root of the Mass Number
