Golden State Warriors News and Notes
First of all, a note of positivity: Quinten Post and Pat Spencer look to be quality NBA players. I’m more of a Post fan, and I think that he’s a guy you have to play everyday in the rotation.
We Toast to the Genesis of these two magnificent players” as ray hudson would say
It appears as if the Golden State Warriors are, again, rudderless.
Again… WOW
Let’s air-out some truths on this squad:
-I said that once the Dubs got Melton and Seth situated, it was then time to be incredibly diligent with our critiques of the squad. The team as a whole had completely stunk it up with their full-squad. Elaborate? Sure:
-There are no consistent lineups, and Kerr is handicapped because he has no height or length on the squad, his Star players are EXTREMELY limited with the minutes they are allowed to play, and also has an insane amount of guards.
-The Jimmy Butler trade was a hail-mary that didn’t work, and everyone is paying (especially Lacob). The Warriors paid 60 plus million to Jimmy, and right now the entire move looks completely wrong and off. It’s not that Butler doesn’t fit, it’s that he’s too old and too restricted to make 60 million; he can barely play 30 minutes a night!
-Mike Dunleavy Jr. absolutely butchered the roster. Poole trade was one of the worst in Warriors history, Al Horford has been a bust, the Jimmy trade was desperate, and then he overpaid. I would have fired Dunleavy years ago, and I’ll leave it at that.
-This roster is in more shambles than I can describe; they simply aren’t built for the modern NBA.
-Steve Kerr is one of the better coaches of ALL-TIME, but he’s not hitting any of the notes this season. I think once JK is off the squad things could be different, nevertheless Kerr hasn’t been good this season.
-There is absolutely no continuity, because the roster isn’t NBA-caliber. If you’re having to overplay Pat Spencer, and if Gui Santos is getting regular-run, you have failed as an NBA Franchise.
-The Warriors absolutely love DNPing players, instead of making consolidation trades. Dubs probably could’ve had Trey Murphy years ago, for players who routinely get DNP’s and limited minutes on the Dubs.
Bottom-line?
MOVES, PLURAL need to be made, in order for the Warriors to compete this season. I don’t think MDJ is up to the task, so it looks like the Warriors are headed for a Play-In crash out; insanely disappointing.
Now I have to be a bit mean:
-I don’t think Buddy Hield or Jonathan Kuminga should ever see minutes on the Warriors again, and they need to be traded as soon as humanly possible. I have big-time issues with their heart and work-ethic. That’s irredeemable, in my opinion.
-I would have no problem with the Warriors trading both Draymond and Jimmy. These are the two most talented players outside of Steph, and they really can’t play more than 25-30 minutes a night; not good enough.
-MDJ should have been fired, but I think he’ll last at GM. This is not a good thing. Hear mem out…MDJ is good at filling in the margins, which means the Dubs should consolidate-trade and…fill in the margins. Bad news; he’s the worst Warriors GM at trading in the past 25 years. NOT GOOD.
I couldn’t be more disappointed in the Warriors this season. These guys don’t have it, and MDJ probably isn’t good enough to make the requisite changes.
For a little uplift…I’m going to next Monday's Warriors game against the Magic! I’ll make sure to take some pictures and videos, and hopefully the Dubs can pull off a Win for old C-Train and his family!
Happy Holidays, from C-Train Station to YOU!
