Departing Grand Rapids, MI on Amtrak 371 The Pere Marquette. Due to the location of the statin The train has to back out of the platform then switch tracks then change directions to continue onto Chicago. When the train stopped at the old station about a mile or so down the road it was a straight shot in and out. Now after the train arrives It first has to back into the station by again switching off the sub branch onto the spur. After everyone has detrained they will turn the train on the wye to get it positioned for the next days run to Chicago.
