Harrick Plasma cleaners are used extensively for PDMS bonding and the fabrication of microfluidic devices. Plasma treatment introduces polar, reactive functional groups to the silicone surface, enabling water-tight covalent bonding. These polar groups also increase surface hydrophilicity and surface wettability.
