Chaparral High School Prom Gig Log 2022!! | LIVE AT THE MARQUEE THEATRE

Ladies and Gentleman, I bring to you the funnest, most awesomest, coolest, highest anticipated, jaw dropping, most exuberant, and greatest feat in Decibel Duo history!!!! Since I started the business, playing a show at The Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Arizona has been a pipe dream. I DJ'd b2b with my great friend, Jacob Mandelbaum, a senior at Chaparral High School as we crushed his senior prom! There was a lot of preparation that went into this dance and almost everything went according to plan. In addition to Chap Prom, I also had Hamilton High School's Prom at the same time! K and Logan crushed Hamilton at the OdySea Aquarium in Scottsdale, Arizona. In order to make this show as legit as possible, we used rolling truss towers, prerigged with all of the lighting and cabling before we got to the show. And now for the best part of the description, THE GEAR LIST BABY!!! The Gear List has 2 parts to it. The first part is all of the equipment that we provided and the second is what the venue or (house) provided. We were not allowed to used any trusses or hang any lights from the house system.

That was a lot of fun! I will mention the 2 things that didn't go to plan, I wasn't devastated, but it was definitely painful! The 1st one was lasers! I recently bought 2 new 5W lasers and wanted to use all 4 of my larger laser systems for an incredible liquid sky/hot beam effect in the venue. Unfortunately, after 2 years of covid I decided not to renew my laser license in the state of Arizona and there were two other concerts on the same night using all the licensed laser operators in Arizona. The 2nd was the CO2! CO2 has always had issues. Ever since Hamilton Hoco 2018, I've tried to use 4 cannons at once and I haven't been able to make it all work. This time I knew I could do it. I had nice, new jets and 4-way hose manifolds to connect 4 tanks to each jet. We painfully rolled in 16 Full CO2 Tanks and secured them to the sides of the subs. I set up all 4 jets and ran the power and hose lines accordingly. I went to grab the special plastic washers for the tanks and much to my surprise, I only had 8 of them.... I need 16 for all the tanks and jets to be effective. I was so angry with myself for not buying 1000 of them like I've done with DMX cables and everything else. The CO2 still worked great using 1 jet on each side, but boy oh boy, it will be a spectacle when I remember to put everything on the truck and send 200lbs of CO2 into the crowd!!!!
