新潟県南魚沼郡湯沢町のドラゴンドラ(苗場田代ゴンドラ)は、片道5481m、所用時間20分超の日本一長大なロープウェイです。
一般的にロープウェイは麓から上りっぱなしの路線が殆どですが、ドラゴンドラは沢を渡るために谷を下り再び上昇する珍しい路線で、紅葉の時期は大変な人気のようです。
苗場ドラゴンドラとパノラマリフト(田代第二高速リフト)を乗り継ぐことで、標高1,474mまで登ることができます。
Fall colors from Japan’s longest gondola! Dragondola and Tashiro Panorama Quad
The 5481m “Dragondola” at Naeba Ski Resort near Yuzawa, Niigata prefecture is the longest gondola rope-way in Japan and takes about 20 minutes between two stations.
While gondolas usually go up and down the mountain; “Dragondola” ascends and descends down the side of a mountain to cross a small river, before ascending again. This is a very popular way to see the Fall Colors and changing leaves in Japan.
In Autumn, you can continue from the top of Dragondola and take the Panorama High Speed Quad Chairlift to reach an altitude of 1,474m with great views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
In Summer, Naeba Ski Resort is the venue for the Fuji Rock music festival.
