Onboard the summer Saturday only, Great Western HST service which runs from Bristol through to Weymouth, replacing the usual sprinter units. The set is completely declassified and is used to take the extra volume of passengers to/from the coast during the busy summer weekends.
We picked up the service from Westbury, where it continues to call at Frome, Castle Cary, Yeovil Pen Mill, Maiden Newton, Dorchester West and Weymouth.
We encountered some problems at Yeovil due to a problem accessing the token which is required for services to travel down the single line between Yeovil and Maiden Newton. So that caused us a delay of around 40mins.
None the less a good journey on a HST! Always good fun travelling on a HST on a route they're not so frequent down, attracting the attention of people, certainly in third rail territory.
