Shanta sings a golden classic Bollywood songs from 1954. That was the time when sound and music were added to black and white film.
It was also the time of the portable transistor radio, the LP record,
and the singles. All this was a great success and the golden age began for the Indian film and music industry. The song is from Lata Mangeshkar, one of the greatest Indian singers of all time. Lata started singing at the age of twelve and has sung approximately 50,000 songs in her eighty-year singing career, making it into the Guinness Book of Records. She has received many awards and was one of the few singers who could sing in 4 octaves. Her voice remained pure all these years and she will go down in history as the nightingale of India, Queen of Melody, Voice of the Millennium.
Shanta likes the lyrics and she also loves the melody in particular.
“If people like my music and get inspiration from the lyrics, especially when things aren't going well, then I've achieved my goal,” says Shanta.
