Wario Land 4 Longplay

Hello! Welcome to this longplay of Wario Land 4 for the Game Boy Advance. This game came out in 2001 and is the 4th game in the Wario Land Series. When a mysterious pyramid suddenly appears, Wario is drawn to the potential treasure that may be there. Stick around to see if he makes off with this Treasure.

This is the point where I like to talk a little about why I like this game. As per usual if you have a story about why you like this game please leave it in the comments below. I would love to read about it. The Wario games are so much fun, there is no denying this. I've always wanted to play these games. Since the Wii U is closing its shops soon, I figured that paying $7.99 us much cheaper than paying $30 some odd dollars for a loose copy. I wish I had the peripheral for the GameCube that lets you play GBA games. One day I'll pick one up and be able to record them. But, this game was lots of fun! The level designs are so fun and cool, and the music is also super fantastic. I'm sure i would have loved this game when I was younger. But, being more mature now I have a really strong love for the aesthetic of this game. It really helps pull you in more honestly. The bosses are a lot of fun and the stages have this really neat feature where you have to collect 4 parts of a gem to complete the level. I think this game is a really neat tool for breaking OCD that some games may unintentionally give people. It's hard to explain, but you know how in games when you collect things there is an order to them and a certain way to do things. Well, this game breaks that mold by making the collectibles collectable out of order. For example, if you are to collect item 1-2-3-4 you can play a few stages and collect the items in that order, but as you progress you'll find the items you need like 2-1-4-3 which is stressful sometimes because you think you may have missed something and will have to go back. But, I think this lends to the chaotic nature of Wario himself and the way which the game designers play with expectations. I know this is a video game and not a piece of high art, but its fun to think of. If you just trust the process, most of the time you can grab everything you need in one run, out of order. The way the developers intended. It's like, not everything has to make sense at first. Sometimes you pick up the pieces along the way. This game is honestly very expensive to get a physical copy of, so if you can find it digitally, that's how I'd recommend playing it. Or anyway you can really. It's a lot of fun, short and has lots of replay value. If you have time give it a shot. This is a easy 10/10 recommendation.
