The first in a long, wondrous history of this legendary band. This was before Yoshimi P-We joined the band, when it was Eye, Toyohito Yoshikawa on drums (who would return to play drums on Pop Tatari, and contribute vocals on Wow2), Yamamoto Seiichi (who would be guitarist with Boredoms until 1999), along with one Hosoi as bassist. Like Wow2, I never really gave it its dues. Been spending more time with it, and holy fuck I'm enjoying the fuck out of it. The only, I don't think it's a black mark, so I'll say caveat instead, is the extended belching on Young Assghouls. When I first heard this years ago, I thought it was hilarious, and I still do. I just know that without it, this album would be far better paced in terms of "I need some good noise in my ears right now". This is up there with Wow2 for me. Feedbackfuck is probably the scariest thing Boredoms ever created, and I wonder what their works would have been like if they followed that nose a little more. I'll have to start revisiting Soul Discharge, because I seemingly don't like it as much as Wow2 and Oso.
