My first attempt at painting 3D printed PLA textures! In this video, I 3D printed four different texture samples—wood grain, brick, rock, and a metal tread plate—and tried painting them using only acrylic paints and brushes from Dollarama. This is a complete beginner’s learning experience where I test out priming, applying a base coat, using an ink wash to bring out details, and finishing with dry brushing for highlights.
If you’ve ever wondered how to paint PLA prints with acrylics, or how well dollar store supplies work for terrain painting, cosplay props, or model scenery, this video walks through the process step-by-step. See what works, what doesn’t, and how each texture reacts to these classic miniature painting techniques.
