This is day 1 of an 8 day backpack through the thorofare in Yellowstone National Park. Our Group consisted of my wife, Steph, My son Dustin, My sister Tina, Brother in law Dan, Friend Josh, and myself. We started at the Heart Lake trailhead (8N1), and hike 7.5 miles to the Heart Lake ranger station, and then 1.8 to campsite 8J1, totaling in 9.3 miles. We passed some thermal areas, the ranger station, and several people, as Heart Lake is a very popular area. Campsite 8J1 is a beautiful campsite with a gorgeous view of Heart Lake. For someone doing a shorter hike i would definitely recommend this area. stay tuned for more!!!
