Scores of residents from Gyetiase and Tadiaso, communities within the sekyere central District of the Ashanti Region, have taken to the streets to protest against poor road infrastructure, accusing successive governments of neglect.
Residents of these predominantly farming communities expressed frustration over their inability to access healthcare in Asante Mampong and Nsuta due to the poor road network.
According to the protesters, teachers and healthcare workers often refuse postings to their communities, citing the poor state of the road as a major reason.
The protesters have warned that they will boycott the December 7 polls and prevent elections from taking place in their communities unless the road are fixed.
