Edison, NJ— In the early hours of Sunday morning, a destructive fire engulfed an apartment complex on Vista Drive, forcing dozens of residents to evacuate. The incident began around 4:30 a.m., leaving eight units completely destroyed and another eight severely damaged.
Firefighters from multiple departments, including Edison, South Plainfield, and New Brunswick, worked tirelessly to control the blaze, battling strong winds that complicated their efforts. Fortunately, all residents were safely evacuated. However, three individuals sustained minor injuries—two from smoke inhalation and one with light burns.
The American Red Cross is providing temporary housing and resources for those affected. Mayor Sam Joshi has assured the community that the cause of the fire is under investigation, but is not currently deemed suspicious.
As the community rallies to support the displaced families, authorities emphasize the importance of preparedness and safety during emergencies.
