Join me as I settle into a slow, dirt-under-the-nails kind of rhythm. Today's agenda: Cook a healthy cellar dweller meal, harden off some eager seedlings, and finally get peas in the ground.
The day starts in the cellar kitchen where I whip up chicken with rosemary and some roasted brussel sprouts.
Then we move to my grow room where we take a peek at my seedlings and bring them outside to start the hardening off process. A nice shady location for a couple hours is a great way to start. Hardening off is essential for tender seedlings to transition them to outside weather conditions.
We end the day by preparing our peas for planting by soaking them overnight in water to "plump" them up and give them a head start in germination.
I then return the next day to finally get my first crop in...Spring Peas!!!
