Sakura Gakuin - Monomane Shiritori (Mimics + Word Chain Game) (ENG Subs) / さくら学院 | ものまねしりとり

Watch the Sakura girls play mimics, and learn a few words in Japanese in the process! (?)
On this variant of the Shiritori game, the girls played by "only acting" out the words, rather than writing or saying them. They were playing this as a recreational activity while they were on the bus that would take them to the "forest/outdoors school" to record that year's summer special.

SHIRITORI - BACKGROUND
Shiritori is a popular Japanese word game.
The basic rules are that players must say/write a word that begins with the final kana of the previous word, thus forming a word chain.
"Kana" are the characters that compose the two syllabaries that make up the Japanese writing system along with Kanji, which are hiragana (used for native Japanese words and grammatical concepts) and katakana (mostly used for foreign/loan words, onomatopoeias, scientific purposes, and some proper names of things).
You'll notice that the romanization of most of them, safe for the vowels and the letter "n" represent syllables (mostly formed by one consonant and one vowel).
Finally, there are many variants of the game, as well as versions that make use of various advanced rules to make things more challenging.
