We missed the organised Sunday walk, so we decided to head out and do a spontaneous walk and talk of our own — and what an adventure it turned out to be! 😅
This 5.5 km walk took us through a pretty treacherous starting point near the port of Almería, climbing rocky paths with steep drops, questionable footing, and some genuinely nerve-wracking moments. Along the way, we had stunning views of the Cabo de Gata, the Cable Inglés, the lighthouse, the A7 motorway, and even spotted what we think was the famous “Students Cave” (Cueva de los Estudiantes)… though we’re still debating that one.
From scary mountain paths to dirt tracks, tunnels under the motorway, strange graffiti, abandoned shoes, bags of potatoes, and a noisy coastal road with no footpath — this walk had a bit of everything. Not the smoothest route, but definitely memorable!
