The Isaac Anderson Cabin was sitting in East Knoxville in a subdivision that was close to being condemned because it was vacant for several years and becoming a health hazard to the surrounding neighbors. Mr. Cole Piper, Board Member of the Great Smoky Mountain Heritage Center and Alumnus of Maryville College helped give the cabin a new purpose in Townsend. Mr. Piper got a phone call from Maryville College and accepted the challenge to save Isaac Anderson's Cabin after all.
