Prime Minister Anthony Albanese has delivered a speech honouring former prime minister John Curtin on the 80th anniversary of his death.
During his speech, he promoted Australia’s independence from the US.
Mr Albanese paid tribute to Mr Curtin, claiming he believed the former prime minister made tough calls by rejecting requestions from the US president and the UK prime minister at the time in the interest of Australia.
