We start by comparing the potential and force and the relationship between them. We derive the dipole field first by calculating its potential and then taking its negative derivative to get the magnetic field intensity. We highlight that this result yields the magnetic field intensity in the radial direction toward the center of the dipole. The horizontal or tangential component is then obtained.
