Who is Tartarus?
Tartarus is one of the most ancient and primordial entities in Greek mythology, older than the Olympian gods and born alongside Chaos itself. Unlike Hades, which is the realm of the dead, Tartarus is the deepest abyss of existence — a living void beneath the Underworld, used as a cosmic prison for fallen gods, Titans, and monstrous beings. After the Titanomachy, Zeus cast Cronus and the defeated Titans into Tartarus, sealing them behind eternal gates guarded by the Hecatoncheires.

In early myth, Tartarus is not merely a place, but a primordial deity — the embodiment of the abyss itself. It is said that an anvil would fall for nine days and nights before reaching its bottom. Cold, silent, and inescapable, Tartarus represents divine punishment, cosmic order, and the terrifying depth beneath creation.
