Magnificat & Nunc dimittis (Canticles for Evensong)

I first heard these two pieces at an Evensong by the Roden Boys Choir in the Great or St. Bavo church in Haarlem and immediately fell in love with them. Apparently, not everyone felt the same at the Southern Cathedrals Three Choir Festival in 1965, for which it was specially commissioned..! It is based on Latin American swinging rhythms that maybe are not to everyone's taste - but they appeal greatly to mine, and the choir does a great job as usual.
