Why Japan Is the Best Place to Drift - The Final Day I Will Never Forget

We came to Japan chasing the real thing. Not just laps, not just hype, but the culture that made drifting what it is. And by the time we’re fully settled in at Ebisu Circuit, with Matsuri in full effect, everything finally clicks.

This video has the craziest driving of the entire trip. The kind of driving that only happens once you’re surrounded by the right people and you know the end is near lol. It’s also got the most banter, the most sh!t talk, and the most laughs of the whole series — because that’s what real drift trips are built on.

Ebisu during Matsuri is chaos in the best way. Cars everywhere, nonstop laps, and drivers that are here purely for the love of drifting. No pressure, no egos — just people doing this for the right reasons. Well for the most part at least, always a few bad eggs, usually spectators tho lol.

Huge thank you to Ebisu Circuit, Kumakubo, and their team for putting on such an unreal event and keeping the heart of drifting alive. Massive respect to Sideways Experience for prepping our car and supporting us the entire way — couldn’t have done this without you.

Big thanks to Tire Streets and Accelera Tires for hooking the crew up with 651 Sports, and to Spectrum Turbo and Phenix Radiators for absolutely saving our a$$es with parts when the car needed it most.

And then the trip ends with one of those moments you can’t plan. One of the local OG female drifters comes up and tells me she loves my driving — not knowing who I am, not caring who I am — just reacting to what she saw on track. That right there is Japan. Honest, pure, and rooted in respect for the driving. It may seem silly but those are the most impactful moments of my career.
