Why upload on this specific day to draw attention to this specific person on this oh so specific remix?

Gee I WONDER.

But hey, since I just so haphazardly brought such a slew of barely related happenstances together, might as well say it all here and now, for the love of god check this guy out ‪@5dollarnote‬ and acknowledge his compositional skill.
Seriously, if you enjoy MSM remixes you have to keep a keen eye on this guy. You’re hearing this from ME.

We have a modern day creator of auditory prowess hands down, no question, no debate, no ifs, ands, or buts.
I’m hoping with this video, I could draw more attention to em’ because honestly… cards on the table… for every single upload since I first ever decided to check out his Amber Island remix, I finally found myself a true gem.

Just to give you even a taste of what his hand at these is like, maybe I could list below some of my favorites from him.
1.
His Fire Haven remix.

It’s unlike any other one out there really. Blowing any other overly saturated or poorly paced one out the water. (Yes even my own.) Complete with an absolutely heavenly progression at the second half of itself. I commend this remix, truly. I first actually got around to hearing it in December last year near Christmas and it shot a wave of inspiration and motivation throughout my pencil to paper creations. (No, seriously.)

I noticed his Shanty Remix has a particular lack of ads. I’m NOT SURE IF THAT WAS INTENDED BUT MAN OH MAN I APPRECIATE THE HELL OUT OF THAT.

I’m like one 3rd of the views on that thing I love it so dearly. I’M PRETTY SURE that bass is completely played by him to. I remember him being mighty fine at it and it is such a glorious addition. It takes direct inspiration from my own remix of the same island and honestly there are quite some not so obvious details I’m glad that we’re caught from my remix and added to his!

Oh and it’s not JUST his MSM remixes. This guy makes delightful covers and new takes on existing songs and it’s a shame they don’t get loads of more traction, like come on. These tend to use VSTs from the monsters you know and love. It really makes it all shine as its own thing separate from MSM but still has that hint of “EY I KNOW THAT MONSTER” to it all.

Christ almighty this is one of MY FAVORITES he played over and I genuinely can’t listen to the original without em’. Not that matters anyways cause I discovered this song through this first... For me, it’s like an undying battery of energy to keep me brisk during a walk that could go for a much needed sprint. The OG song is fun but man the heavyweight beats of Peri and the addition of the ol’ stegosynth turn the damn thing up to 11.
(Personally I enjoy listening to the one with both the male and female vocals.)

Christ, if I had room to mention any more remixes, we’d probably be here all day…

I hope you enjoy this, 5Pesos. It ain’t much, It ain’t terribly creative, it’s not the cleanest, It doesn’t have original made VSTs to speak of, it has a pretty weak ending, but this is my way of showing you that I always appreciated your work, music, and sketches alike from afar…

If there were any tunes you set out, I was always there to download them first thing, and they’re all located in a special place at the bottom of my…Uh, Drive.

This actually mark the first self-remix I’ve ever made extremely late from the initial island’s release…

It’s also the first self-remix I ever made that has upwards of 32 unique monsters spread across 76 different tracks that was built in a matter of a record breaking 1 ½ days. (Which was agonizing and honestly it PROBABLY could’ve used more work) I did make sure to take some notes from your Nexus remix though. (Wanna’ make sure you end up actually at least liking this thing and all.)

I tip mah headphones to you. One mixer to another.
You truly have become the master that exceeds the skill of my craft. (Hope I didn’t put you too much on the spot though…)
Will I ever work with the VSTs themselves? I thought about this remix being the first time I ever would but I calculated that I indeed wouldn't have been able to make it if I did, but man would it have made it that much more special. At least the best thing I could come up with a piano. This piano of which after 6 years of dormancy from the Starhenge remix came back with a VENGEANCE.

(Maybe one day… Maybe one day…)
