sorry if I made the video a little awkward, this is the first one I've done where I'm speaking. I forgot to mention that Murray DID make edison cylinders around 1896/97, however none of them have survived(as of December 2025). his oldest disc records that we have info about were made for columbia back in 1901, but most of them were with other singers, his oldest solo disc record available to hear online is "has anybody seen our cat" from 1902, also a columbia record(unfortunately whoever did the digital transfer used WAY too much editing).
from what ive heard, columbias oldest disc records spun at around 67/68rpm, closer to a Berliner record, so I was pretty suprised to play this for the first time and hear how slow it was.
