Baganda Ancient Spirituality

There is a legend among the Baganda tribe in Uganda of the creator, his children and this is a very vital aspect of the of their traditional Religion. According to the legend of Kintu and Nambi.
Kintu was the first muganda upon the surface of the Earth and he had his one cow, then there was Gulu who lived in heaven with his children namely Nambi, Kayikuzi and Walumbe. Occasionally Nambi loved to come on earth to play and that was where she saw the handsome man Kintu, she decided to talk to him and convince him to come with her to Gulu her father to seek for a marriage blessing which Kintu did. They got the blessing but the father warned them not to return to heaven because Walumbe would follow them down and that was not a nice thing because he was the pioneer of disaster.
On their way back to earth, Nambi remember she has forgotten the millet for her chicken which she insisted on going back to collect in heaven despite the fact that Kintu dissuaded her. On her way back after picking the millet she met Walumbi who asked her where she was going and at the end of it all he forcefully followed her to earth and that was the birth of disaster according to the legend that has been taught to us for generations.
