This is a kinescope of the first IHSA boys basketball championship game ever televised. It includes only the second half and overtime, the first half having been lost in a control room mishap. As was common at the time, the film was later edited to remove breaks between plays.
With just 98 students, Hebron was the smallest high school to win Illinois' single-class championship, which ran from 1908 to 1971.
Announcers: Jack Drees and Chick Hearn (heard only once, briefly, since the color man generally spoke only during breaks in the action).
Players in this game: HEBRON, 4 Phil Judson, 6 Ken Spooner, 8 Don Wilbrandt, 9 Phil Judson, 17 Bill Schulz. QUINCY, 21 Phil Harvey, 29 Dick Thompson, 30 Charlie Fast, 31 Jack Gower, 32 Bruce Brothers, 33 Tom Payne.
