Oregon Administrative Rule 734-020-0045 lists allows bikes on this section of Highway 26 Eastbound from the Canyon Ct (Zoo exit overpass) down to Jefferson Street exit (Mile Post 73.35) before the Hwy 26 tunnel. https://oregon.public.law/rules/oar_7...
Here is a clip of doing so.
For reference to those that are not aware, there is not "Bike path" for this section of Hwy 26 in the metropolitan area. Surface street routes require about a 5 mile detour to connect between these two points. This concern was raised when it was attempted to change this administrative rule for the section of highway 26.
It is more comfortable to take the bike route through Washington Park around the Zoo and past the Rose Gardens, when the gates are not locked to the park. The other option is the Maxx for this segment... outside of large events in Portland that occasionally overwhelm the Maxx to capacity.
