I tried out the Tenkara style of fishing while wade fishing for redfish. Tenkara is an old Japanese style of fishing similar to fly fishing but you do not use a reel. The rod I used is a very flexible 6.3 meter, 21-foot collapsible carbon fiber rod. The fishing line is tied to the very end of the rod and at the other end a fly is typically used, I used a small lure in this instance. Casting is done very much like fly fishing and typically you use the rod to get the fish close to you then grab the line to bring the fish in to end the fight. I caught 4 redfish, 1 trout, and one flounder on this trip but of course the GoPro battery went dead and I only have the footage seen here. I fished with a spinning rod also and caught another 15+ redfish before the weather changed and ended fishing.
Please excuse the audio, I play music on my phone while fishing, and my videos have random music captured. I don't care about monetization with such minuscule views so I leave these videos as they were recorded. "It's my theme music. Every good hero should have some!"
