But usefulness fades,

what keeps you standing up?

I’ve survived worse than this.

Have you?
Or did you just stay busy enough
to never look at it?
If no one’s reaching for your hands,
if no one calls your name
tell me what’s left
when you can’t be the flame.

I’ve walked through storms without blinking,
learned to breathe where others drown.
I’ve worn the dark like second skin,
I’ve never been afraid to break down.
I don’t run from what I am,
I don’t flinch when things get rough
I’ve given everything I have
and somehow… it’s been enough.

Enough for who?

Fear:
What if you’re only useful
when you’re holding someone together?
What if without their weight
you finally feel the weather?
If someone else could take your place,
sing the same damn song
tell me who you are then
when the audience is gone.

Ormir:
I don’t know how to sit still.
I don’t know how to rest.
If I’m not pulling someone from the edge,
I don’t know what’s left.
If I stop being the answer,
if I lay the mission down
I’m scared I’ll hear the quiet say
I was never found.

Fear:
Exactly.

Fear:
If you’re not needed, you disappear.
You fade into the crowd.

how to breathe out loud.
