There's an old train of thought that says you can't realistically adapt to and overcome a situation if you don't accept the facts that exist, no matter what they might be. You can't solve a problem if you don't admit what it is! So, yeah. The end of September? I don't think so. The first week of October for a finished army - sticking to that original 'thirty days' concept? That I'm pretty sure I can manage.
Allowing that I literally couldn't have done anything about those lost eight days kinda freed up a bunch of extra time to work, and has made me feel a bit better about coming in 'short' on this - by accepting there wasn't a realistic solution to the problem of starting late on the painting, I can adjust my own expectations and keep going! Instead of getting disheartened and puttering out, I've given myself a shot in the arm of enthusiasm to get this all done!
