OKAY SO LIKE, FIRST OF ALL, HOPELESS FOUNTAIN KINGDOM IS LITERALLY INCREDIBLE?? IT'S SUCH A GOOD ALBUM?? HOLY SHIT??
I wasn't a super huge fan of the first two singles (Strangers is a bop though) so I wasn't really expecting much but OH. MY. GOD. HALSEY!!!!!!!!!!!!
She's improved as a songwriter and singer so much in the last two years and I am emo about it. I love Halsey with a passion and will fight anyone and everyone in her honour. Anyways, Merthur!
Very minimal voiceovers in this video because I absolutely looooooove the lyrics and think this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard so I really wanted the focus to be on the lyrics. As a consequence I had to be more careful in picking scenes bc they had to make sense even without accompanying audio so hopefully that paid off, haha. Generally: first verse/chorus is Arthur's pov, and the second is Merlin's.
