Ouray Perimeter trail

Hiking the Ouray Perimeter trail, which goes in a complete circuit above the picturesque San Juan mountain town of Ouray, on August 7th, 2025. The path, which consists of numerous interconnected segments of trails and roads, on its own affords a rich taste of what this locale has to offer aesthetically and recreationally, and through its interconnectedness will undoubtedly point the adventurer in many other possible directions. On this occasion I hike the 5.6-mile, 1,400-foot elevation-gain loop clockwise starting at the visitor center trailhead. The attractions include numerous tall waterfalls, precipitous bridges, rock formations and canyons, and vistas to the surrounding high bluffs and mountains and to the idyllic town below. I have also included footage from excursions to attractions not on the trail per se, but easily accessible from it. For my climb of nearby 14er Mt.
