Krishnakumar Kunnath, commonly known as KK or Kay Kay, shows a strong lean towards Kishore Kumar and RDBurman in his musical tendencies. His melodious voice and love for love songs touch most of his listeners and make him stand out among all the talented singers of Bollywood. KK entered Bollywood by singing a small part of Chod Aaye Hum's song in the 1996 movie Maachis. His big break was the 1999 movie Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam's Tadap Tadap Ke Is Dil. That same year, KK released his debut solo album, Pal, expanding his horizons with Leslie Lewis on music and Mehboob on lyrics. Published by Sony Music. Songs like Aap Ki Dua and Pal were instant hits and received a lot of praise from KK for his winning the Best Playback Singer at the first screen award. His next song was Jab Bhi Koi Haseena from the movie Hera Pheri (2000).
