What is a Subtended Angle? | Geometry, Circles, Subtended Angles

What is a subtended angle? We go over just that in today's math lesson! Subtended angles don't always have to be in circle, but that is where they often come up!

An angle subtended by an object, usually a line segment or chord, is an angle whose rays pass through the endpoints of that object. Often we are interested in central subtended angles, which are angles whose vertices are the center of a circle, and are subtended by an arc or a chord of the circle. The measure of such an angle can give us valuable information about the circle, and/or the object it is subtended by.
