I decided to post this video because I thought someone might benefit from learning from my mistakes.
I made this butcher block style cutting board in late 2019 for a Christmas Gift. It was my first cutting board and let me tell you I didn't make it easy on myself. I should have never glued everything together in the shop, because it was winter (-5'C / 23'F) and I think it affected the glue penetration. I cut the board in half and glued it back together. I used WAYYYY too much putty which took hours to sand down. Knowing what I now know, I would also avoid African Padauk because it's very porous (similar to oak) and it's not ideal for a cutting board.
Thanks for watching!
