History of El Miro:
The Ruins of El Miro sit on the hillside at the south end of Jacó, originally intended to be a luxury hillside mansion and viewpoint in the 1990s. The unfinished structure fell into abandonment after the owner’s passing, leaving behind archways, columns, balconies, and open-air rooms.
Over the years, local and international artists transformed the ruins into a colorful display of murals, graffiti art, and street-style masterpieces, turning El Miro into a cultural landmark with some of the best views of Playa Jacó.
Nearby Attractions:
Playa Jacó – A bustling beach known for surfing, nightlife, and shopping.
Playa Hermosa – A world-class surf break just minutes south of the ruins.
Carara National Park – One of the best wildlife destinations near Jacó.
Bijagual Waterfall & Rainforest Trails – Stunning nature hikes nearby.
Jacó Walk & Downtown Markets – Food, souvenirs, and local culture.
How to Get to El Miro by Car:

Only a short walk from the parking area to the official start of the trail.
No 4x4 is required, and the ruins are very accessible compared to other viewpoints in Costa Rica.
